Marco Perugini was born in an old-fashioned rural town in New England, where close-knit communities provided a nurturing environment for a childhood filled with familiarity and warmth. After high school, he enrolled in university with the intention of pursuing a career in business management. However, his path took a significant turn when he chose to join the family business instead. Under the guidance of his father, who had achieved his culinary credentials in Switzerland, Marco trained as a chef. This hands-on experience led him to eventually become the owner and head chef of the family restaurant, a role he embraced for twenty-nine years. Following his tenure in the restaurant industry, he transitioned into food service management within public and private school systems.
In 1986, Marco married his wife, and together they had three wonderful children. They settled in the neighborhood where they both grew up, where they lived for thirty-three years. Their home became a central gathering place for family and friends, a place of their Italian heritage and the vibrant family life they cherished.
The passing of Marco’s father marked an essential moment in their lives, prompting the move to Florida, where both of their sons had already relocated. For the past two years, Marco has been working in the real estate industry in Florida. Despite the move, the Perugini family maintains strong ties to Connecticut, frequently visiting their daughter, son-in-law, and their cherished grandson.
“A Tribute to My Father: Everything Is Italian” is Marco Perugini’s debut work as an author. This personal journey reflects his diverse experiences, from his culinary career to his recent ventures.
